Resisting in Community, Every Day
Immigrant communities are under attack. Every day, Mixteca’s team shows up: for mental health, health & wellness, immigration justice, and education. This is not a sprint. It is a long-distance run.
About La Resistencia
La Resistencia is not a reaction to a moment. It is a practice, a commitment, a community. When you give to Mixteca, you are sustaining the practice: for every family navigating detention, every woman finding healing in our kitchen, every student learning English, and every community member who walks through our door knowing they belong.
About Mixteca
Mixteca has been rooted in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, for more than 25 years, serving Latinx and Indigenous immigrant families facing some of the most difficult challenges a person can face: lack of housing, family violence, health crises, migratory trauma, and a system that was not built for them.
For many new arrivals, Mixteca is the first stop: the first place to offer real help, real care, and real belonging. Our work spans through our four pillars of work: mental health, health & wellness, immigration justice, and education, always culturally grounded, warm, trauma-informed, and community-led. La Resistencia is not a reaction to a moment. It is our daily practice, our commitment, our community.
Make a one-time gift today, or become a Vecino, a monthly donor who sustains Mixteca's work every single day. Because the most powerful thing we can do is show up, again and again.
Join the resistance.
